Calcium hypochlorite, used in the KLORMAN  1000 & 2000 Systems and trademarked as HYPOCHLOR for the KM1000, is a mild calcium based chlorine in a very stable dry tablet  or pellet form. There is also Watertech Granular Chlorine available

No, the two are very different. The biggest difference is that liquid chlorine is sodium hypochlorite rather than calcium hypochlorite. Liquid Chlorine is dissipates over time and its effectiveness becomes less. Liquid Chlorine has 13% available chlorine where as Calcium Hypochlorite has 65% to 70% available chlorine.

Calcium Hypochlorite has been specifically designed to dissolve slowly and consistently. It is dispensed from a replaceable patented cartridge that is both easy to use and cost effective or via the chambers in the KM2000. When the cartridge is empty or the chamber in the KM2000 is empty ,  you just replace it top up the chamber on the KM2000.

There are several ways in which chlorine concentration, measured as parts per million, can be assessed. The two most frequently used are chlorine test strips and the DPD titration system. Chlorine test strips have proven to be an adequate and acceptable measurement of chlorine levels for process water applications. DPD titration, while being more accurate, is also more involved to perform. It is considered to be very accurate for low levels of chlorine such as those associated with potable drinking water. A. Due to the fact that so many variables occur in water treatment, a definite answer to this question is impossible. It depends on several variables, each having an effect on consumption of the tablets.

The unique ability of the KLORMAN systems to dispense dry calcium hypochlorite (a solid dispensed into a liquid) insures controlled pH/ Most of the corrosion associated with Calcium Hypochlorite occurs from the use of sodium Calcium Hypochlorite (liquid bleach) and its excessive alkalinity. The self-buffering nature of Calcium Hypochlorite tablets prevents this high degree of alkaline corrosion.

A. No. Active chlorine as calcium hypochlorite, when expended, is reduced to a chloride which is inert and naturally occurring. Calcium Hypochlorite is registered with the EPA and approved by the USDA/FDA for use in food processing. (Documentation for your particular application is available upon request.

A. Calcium Hypochlorite cartridges are packaged in sealed plastic sleeves. This sealed package provides a shelf life of over one year with no loss of strength. Calcium Hypochlorite cartridges are packed  four or sixteen to a case for the KLORMAN 1000

A. Yes, according to the EPA, calcium hypochlorite is classified as an oxidizing agent. It should be stored in a cool, dry, well ventilated area away from heat or open flame. A. Yes, but there is a standard hazardous material charge per case, plus freight, that is charged . If sufficient quantities are ordered at the same time to the same destination, it becomes more economical to ship by common carrier. Calcium Hypochlorite cartridges are restricted to ground transportation only (no overnight air shipments).
